Description
The Original Statue stands in the Louvre, Paris.
This statue was excavated by Gavin Hamilton in 1792 on Prince Borghese’s property at Gabii outside Rome and was displayed (with other sculptures found there) in the gardener’s house (now the Casino dell’Orologio) in the grounds of the Villa Borghese which had been radically transformed by Nicola Fagioli the year before.
